Integration exams ÖIF
The Integration Act has been in force since 2017. Since then, there has been an integration test which, in addition to language skills, also tests knowledge of values.
When do you have to take an integration test?
- Extension of the first residence permit
- Obtaining a permanent residence permit
- As proof of language skills for Austrian authorities and employers
ÖIF A2 is required for the extension of the residence permit to 3 years. Also called integration test and is accepted by the Magistrat 35 and district authorities.
Applies as proof of language proficiency for Module 1 (A2) of the current integration agreement.
ÖIF B1 is required to obtain a permanent residence permit and Austrian citizenship. Also called B1 integration test and is accepted by the Magistrat 35 and district authorities.
Applies as proof of language proficiency for module 2 (B1) of the current integration agreement.
